Why Foodbank?
When Jesus announces his ministry in Luke 4, he reads a passages from Isiah that starts like this “The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor.”. Caring and showing mercy for the poor is a primary aspect of seeing God’s kingdom come. As part of our response to this call we run a regular food bank at Manor House Neighbourhood Centre, to provide free food supplies to anyone in need.
When does Foodbank run
Foodbank opens twice a week on a on Wednesday evening between 5:30pm and 7.00pm and Friday between 10.30am and 12.30pm. Anyone in need can turn up at either of those sessions and they will be able to register, and receive a food parcel. They will then be able to attend once a fortnight from that point on.
How to volunteer?
If you are interested in volunteering at one of these sessions then please speak to Will Pearce or email the church office.
